India's Davis Cup team, which defeated Pakistan 4-0 in the World Group I play-offs last week in Islamabad, was drawn to play Sweden in an away Davis Cup World Group I tie in September.

The hosts, who lack intimidating singles players, lost 1-3 to Brazil at home in the Qualifiers first round. Although India has never won against Sweden in five meetings, this will be a great opportunity to achieve their first win.

The last time India played Sweden was in 2005, when they hosted them in Delhi and lost 1-3. Sweden, on the other hand, boasts a very talented Elias Ymer, ranked 160, in their ranks. India's Sumit Nagal, who is ranked higher(121), might make for an intriguing tie if he is available.

India captain Rohit Rajpal seemed happy with the draw, considering that they could have been drawn against Novak Djokovic-led Serbia.

"The away ties are tough because surface choice is with the home team. It will depend on what surface they choose to play on. We could have drawn tougher teams and now we have to make full use of this draw," Rajpal told PTI.
