Four Indians, including Ramkumar Ramanathan and N Sriram Balaji, will compete in the Bengaluru Open, which is scheduled to take place from February 12–18. They recently defeated Pakistan in the Davis Cup.

Sumit Nagal, the top singles player in India, who chose not to compete in the Davis Cup, will also be there because his ranking of 137th secured him a direct entrance. For the Bengaluru Open, 257 was the cut-off. In the opening round of the main event at the Australian Open last month, Nagal defeated Alexander Bublik, ranked 27th in the world.

The event director, Sunil Yajman, released a statement stating that the presence of the Indian Davis Cuppers will provide extra motivation for the Bengaluru spectators, particularly following their triumph in Islamabad.

The Indian Davis Cuppers' participation will be an added impetus for the Bengaluru crowd especially after their victory in Islamabad, tournament director Sunil Yajman said in a statement.

"The tournament will also provide the Indian and other top players the opportunity to earn key ranking points and move up the ATP charts," he said.

"This year competition will be very close considering a very strong field will be aiming for the title," he added.
